If you read my previous post, you know that I've been studying Design for the past few months.
Surprisingly, I've found that when I buy the physical media I enjoy it much more than the online resources.
Reading online is fraught with pop ups, ads, requests to login again or change a password, distractions … Because it was designed to break your train of thought.
The book in my hands feels good. I can quickly jump in without losing my train of thought, or my enthusiasm.
I can lend the book to a friend,
or give the book as a gift.
All I need to do is hand it to them.
The web is critically broken.
We've all just gotten used to it.
I wonder how much of the love affair with ChatGPT and similar AI is that it presents a focused distraction-free UX that stays on topic.
